After fourteen implementation phases, GistBoard had accumulated the product's major systems. That breadth created a new problem: the interface presented them all at once.
The editor felt like a vertical feature inventory. Drawing, navigation, recording, export, source material, smart suggestions, Live Board, contributions, and privacy copy competed in one long scroll. The canvas existed, but it no longer set the hierarchy.
The reconstruction did not remove those systems. It changed where they lived. The editor became a full-screen workspace with a top bar, dominant canvas, compact status, persistent four-direction navigation, and an inspector that shows one secondary workflow at a time. Later work reserved safe space for the floating PencilKit palette, polished the panels, and shortened production copy.
This was a meaningful product correction. It treated spatial movement and drawing as the primary experience while keeping secondary workflows nearby without leaving them permanently open. Manual iPad UI QA and phase closeout remain incomplete.
