The Phase 8 integration gate records the point at which previously separate systems became a coherent debug run. A 20-second warm-up gives the player a stable target for Seed, Cut, and Serum. The simulation then starts a provisional three-wave sequence with energy costs, mold damage, corruption, core lives, result states, and restart.
The milestone also formalized a probe-first review process. Controlled deterministic scenarios measure whether Serum prevents conversion, healthy mold damages bugs, Cut preserves terrain, Seed reaches a useful contact zone, resources are spent correctly, and waves progress in order.
Human review is reserved for questions those metrics cannot answer, such as readability and feel on an iPhone.
This was not the finished game. The repository labels the slice as debug-only and keeps the final title flow, tutorial, five-wave structure, boss, persistence polish, audio, and App Store work outside the milestone. Its value is narrower and concrete: it proves that the central living-defense loop can operate as one reproducible system.
