Drop's earliest implementation sequence built the smallest useful loop in layers: a native application shell, local persistence, an Inbox backed by real data, and then several capture paths.
Typed text arrived first, followed by clipboard capture, voice recording and transcription, and shared text from other iOS apps.
Each path produced the same core DropItem. Its source remained visible, but capture did not force the person to decide whether the material would eventually become a note, task, reminder, or something else.
The March foundation made later transformation and retrieval possible. Image recognition, media retention, semantic retrieval, reminder date review, and broader data controls arrived in later milestones.
