By late April 2026, Expired had moved from an application shell and permission layer to a local scanner pipeline. The implementation separated image access, Vision signal extraction, heuristic evaluation, outcome priority, and suggestion synthesis behind small service boundaries.
That separation established an important product rule early: a scan result is a suggestion, not a deletion instruction. The output is a category, confidence, and review policy that the interface can present to the user. Unknown or weak results can remain out of view, while the user retains the choice to track, keep, ignore, or dismiss a candidate.
The implementation also reveals the conservative scope of the live product. Although the service layer can evaluate text-heavy, document, receipt, barcode, and screenshot signals in tests, the normal feature path currently feeds it screenshots only.
The milestone created the broader classification vocabulary, but production candidate breadth remains a later integration question.
