The sync programme began by freezing a product contract before enabling any network path. Local-only use was to remain complete, existing work could not upload without consent, local saving could not depend on the network, and private same-account continuity could not be described as collaboration or backup.
The first implementation step changed local persistence rather than the interface. A versioned envelope separated durable workspace content from device-local state and added logical stamps, pending changes, and tombstones. Existing schema-3 workspaces gained an idempotent migration path while retaining atomic writes and backup recovery.
The next commit added transport-independent reconciliation, a fake multi-replica server, record codecs, and a private CloudKit adapter behind explicit internal gates. The repository records extensive deterministic tests but no completed live CloudKit development exercise. The ordinary app entry point does not construct the adapter, and no customer sync settings or status experience exists.
This work is guarded infrastructure research. It does not change the current public promise that the product is local-only, and it is not a release commitment.
