TextRay's first recorded development sequence established a native Mac app, a managed local folder, a document model, a plain-text editor, and draft autosave. The important choice was to let writing begin before the person had decided on a permanent filename.
Meaningful text became an ordinary local file. Notes and drafts could remain the durable content layer while workspace state lived separately around them.
Later audits found unresolved lifecycle gaps around pending saves. This milestone defines the architectural starting point, not a finished durability guarantee.
